Japanese electronics firm Sony recently introduced its latest smartphone Sony Xperia Z, which will battle against other smartphones in the market like the popular Samsung Galaxy S3.

Sony unveiled its quad-core flagship phone at the recently concluded Consumer Electronics Show in Barcelona, Spain early this month.

The device boasts 5-inch 1080p screen and other powerful specs such as 13MP camera, Jelly Bean OS and a quad core processor. Sony is hoping that its latest Android handset will give its high end rivals a run for their money.

Samsung Galaxy S3 was named as the best device/smartphone of 2012. The tech giant's best-selling phone of 2012 boasts a big 4.8 inch super AMOLED screen display, a quad-core processor, expandable storage, 4G/LTE connectivity and NFC support, and a 2100 mAh battery.

The smartphone received the Androidv4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS with Premium Suite that includes some of the amazing features of Samsung Galaxy Note 2.

Below are the five features of Sony Xperia Z that outbest the Samsung Galaxy S3.

Operating System - The new smartphone from Samsung comes with Androidv4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS out-of-the-box. Some users of Samsung Galaxy S3 are still waiting for the latest Jelly Bean update for the device.

Camera - One of the amazing features of the Sony Xperia Z is its 13 megapixel rear camera that beats Samsung Galaxy S3's 8MP shooter.

Battery - The Sony Xperia Z has 2330 mAh battery compared to GS3's 2100 mAh battery.

Protection - Another amazing feature of the Sony Xperia Z is that it is loaded with protection. The smartphone is water and shatter proof and it has a scratch resistant glass.
