Willie Revillame Suspended?

ABS-CBN noontime host Willie Revillame’s “objectionable" way of removing the live video of former President Corazon Aquino’s cortege from his popular midday program “Wowowee" last Monday violated the broadcast code of ethics, an official of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) said.

NO TO WILLIEThe online petition calling for TV host Willie Revillame's ouster from his "Wowowee" show in ABS-CBN has already attracted thousands of angry respondents.

As of 5 p.m. Saturday, Roel Saguisag's petition has gathered 16,642 signatures, with at least 40 new respondents every ten minutes. PetitionOnline noted that "Petition to Oust Willie Revillame" is the second most active petition on the site.

This is also the second time since Kevin Nadal's online petition for an apology from the "Desperate Housewives" producers in 2007 that a Filipino-made petition has generated such buzz on the site.

"Was it really hard for him to be humble and human?" Saguisag wrote in his petition, "Pres. Aquino taught us humility and Revillame is showing us the exact opposite."

In an interview with GMA News’ Sherrie Ann Torres on Friday, MTRCB chair Consoliza Laguardia said Revillame also violated Sec. 3 of Presidential Decree 1986.

"Yung personal kong tingin objectionable ‘yung ginawa ni Willie kasi pwede niyang ginawa ung offcam. He violated the broadcast code of ethics of KBP (Kapisanan ng Brodkaster ng Pilipinas) and then sa part ng MTRCB, Sec. 3 of PD 1986 ‘yung being objectionable and contrary to good customs and tradition," Laguardia said.

(In my personal view, Willie’s action was objectionable because he could have said those things off camera. He violated the broadcast code of ethics of the KBP and for the part of MTCRB, he violated Sec. 3 of PD 1986, by being objectionable and contrary to good customs and tradition.)
On camera last Monday, during Wowowee's regular airing, Revillame testily told his network's management to remove the video of Mrs. Aquino’s cortege aired simultaneously in an inset frame on TV screens.

“Hindi siguro magandang tingnan na pinapakita niyo yan (Mrs. Aquino’s footage). Nagsasaya kami tapos pinapakita niyo yung, I don't think dapat ipakita yan."

“Eh mahihirapan akong magsalita rito. Nagpapasaya ako nakikita ko ‘yung ano (cortege) ni Tita Cory. Sana pakitanggal naman muna ‘yan sa ating traffic. Kasi kung ganyan pakita nalang natin ‘yan kasi nagsasaya kami dito tapos masakit sa akin yan. Nagsasalita ako dito yan Pls, sana maintindhan niyo, nagsasaya kami dito papakita niyo sa amin yun. Diba? Hindi tama eh okay?"

“Hay nako. Pangit. Hindi maganda ho sa atin nagsasalita pinapakita yung kabaong ni Tita Cory. Diba? Paano kami magkakapagsaya nahihirapan kami? I'm sorry ho ah pero ako totoo ako eh. ‘Wag niyo akong papagalitan...Pagkatapos ng show pakita niyo ‘yung gusto niyong ipalabas. Kasi itong Wowowee gusto ko at alam din ni Tita Cory ‘yan kasi napasaya din siya ng show na ito na laging masaya dito. Okay?"
The live video of the transfer of Cory's body to the Manila Cathedral was removed from his show moments later.

A day after his controversial remarks, Revillame apologized through Wowowee and clarified that he had no ill intentions when he sought the removal of the insets.

“Sa sitwasyon na ito, kung may nasaktan ako, I’m sorry. Sa pamilya Aquino, alam ng buong pamilya Aquino, wala akong masamang intensyon doon (I’m sorry if what I did hurt anyone. The entire Aquino family knows I have no bad intentions)," Revillame said.
He explained that as the host of a variety show (where guests play games and win money), it would have been hard for him to make his audience happy if Mrs. Aquino’s casket was simultaneously shown.

Teach him a lesson

Two media organizations, the National Press Club and the Alyansa ng Filipinong Mamahayag (Afima), also expressed dismay over Revillame’s remark.
"Siguro dapat mabigyan siya ng leksyon ngayon. Iba na to eh. Ibang case na to eh (He should be taught a lesson this time. This is a different case)," said AFIMA president Jerry Yap.
"Kung hindi niya titigilan yung ganong attitude niya I don’t think dapat pa siyang panoorin ng tao (If he will not change his attitude I don’t think people should continue watching him)," said NPC president Benny Antiporda.

Email Scam: Free Laptop from Sony Ericsson (Hoax)

Email chain letter claims phone manufacturer Ericsson will give away free laptop computers to those who forward the message to at least eight people.

The Ericsson Company is distributing free computer Lap-tops in an attempt to match Nokia that has already done so.

Ericsson hopes to increase its popularity this way. For this reason, they are giving away the new WAP laptops. All you need to do to qualify is to send this mail to 8 people you know. Within 2 weeks, you will receive Ericsson T18. But if you can send it to 20 people or more, you will receive Ericsson R320.

Analysis: Here's a chain letter that doesn't even make sense on the face of it. To quote the main premise as stated in the version circulating since 2007:

Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings, but Nokia has never distributed free laptop computers to email forwarders. Nor are they ever likely to do so. Nor is Sony Ericsson.


All you need to do to qualify is to send this mail to 8 people you know. Within 2 weeks, you will receive Ericsson T18.


Sounds easy enough and tempting, too, but get this: the Ericsson T18 is a cell phone, not a computer. Moreover, it's a discontinued model. They don't sell it anymore!


But if you can send it to 20 people or more, you will receive Ericsson R320.


Again, the Ericsson R320 is a cell phone, not a computer. And discontinued, to boot!

What gives? The email above is slightly revised version of a nine-year-old hoax promising free phones to frequent forwarders. Though the phrase "computer laptops" has been substituted in the newer variant to reel in more suckers, evidently the anonymous prankster who revised the original couldn't be bothered to change the model numbers of the supposed promotional items.

The email address to which copies of the forwarded message are supposed to be sent, anna.swelung@ericsson.com, is a corruption of the address specified in the 2000 version of the hoax (anna.swelund@ericsson.com), which, of course, was never valid in the first place.

Sony Ericsson confirms that this email campaign is a hoax. In addition, Sony Ericsson confirms that the Ericsson contact name does not exist.

All competitions and promotions involving Sony Ericsson are run through official channels such as Sony Ericsson’s website or Sony Ericsson’s partners’ websites. Please be wary of any competition or promotion that appears to come from outside of Sony Ericsson or Sony Ericsson’s partners official channels. Examples of these include via spam emails or SMS.

Please do not reply to or forward the email if you receive it.

DUMAGUETE CITY, Philippines -- Four persons died while two others remain missing when floods and a landslide hit Negros Oriental, damaging some 400 houses and millions of pesos in infrastructure, crops and livestock.
Downpours began Friday afternoon and continued for some 36 hours, until Saturday evening, causing the Banica River that straddles Valencia town and Dumaguete, and the Ocoy River in Sibulan, to overflow and flood the 30 barangay (villages) of Dumaguete City and neighboring municipalities.

The Provincial Disaster Coordinating Council (PDCC), quoting reports it had received, said the fatalities were from Dumaguete, Valencia, and Amlan.

At the PDCC meeting presided by Governor Emilio Macias II, the fatalities were identified as Susan Fernandez, 14, and her cousin Judilyn Fernandez, 11, both from Sagbang, Valencia; Bernie Mar A. Demecillo, 2, from Candau-ay, Dumaguete; and Felix Sahulla of Silab, Amlan.

Demecillo's mother, Marecil, and a still unidentified person from Pamplona town remain missing.

Dumaguete deputy chief of police Chief Inspector Rosalinda Abellon reported that the flooding washed away 14 houses and damaged 236 others in Barangay (village) Candau-ay, Cadawinonan, Taclobo, Bagacay, Balugo and Camanjac.

Floods also swept away 12 houses in Sibulan and affected 152 houses in Amlan.

Provincial engineer Susano Ruperto told the PDCC that the two days of rain caused an estimated P16 million in damage to the province’s roads and bridges.

Provincial agriculturist Gregorio Paltinca reported that the flooding damaged around 500 hectares planted to rice, corn, vegetables, banana, coconut and fruit trees.

In addition, Paltinca said around 600 head of cattle, chicken, carabao, goats and pigs had been lost to the floods.

The power-ups are located in the middle river. Both are about halfway through from the middle lane to one of the side lanes. Only one rune can be active at a time.
Runes spawn every 2 minutes (replacing collected runes), starting 2 minutes after the game begins.
If you pick up a rune at exp: 3:55 after 5 seconds another will appear if you don't stand very near the place where rune appears

There are 5 different runes: Regeneration, Speed, Illusion, Invisibility and Double Damage
They all last 45 seconds (45 sec effect)

3) Do different towers regenerate at different rates? How about barracks?

Netherezim Buckler = When activated it gives 2 bonus armor to nearby units for 15 seconds
Mekansm = When activated it gives 2 bonus armor for 15 seconds and heals 250 hit points to nearby friendly units for 150 mana
Mask of Madness = When activated it sends a hero/unit into a berserk
(+75% Attack Speed, +15% movespeed, but user gets +20% Damage Taken) for 12 seconds and 25 mana
Lothar's Edge = When activated it windwalks a user giving him invisibility, +15% movespeed and 50 Damage Backstab damage (hit that breaks invisibility), lasts 9 seconds and costs 125 mana
Black King Bar = When activated it gives a 10 second avatar ability (magic immunity) for 150 mana

Abilities:

Kelens Dagger of Escape = Gives user an ability to blink (teleport for a short distance)
Boots of Travel = Gives user an ability to teleport (teleport to both allied creeps and buildings) for 75 mana
Hand of Midas = Gives user an ability to transmute a creep (turns them into extra gold) for 75 mana
Helm of the Dominator = Gives user an ability to dominate a creep (takes creep under a control for 20 minutes/or until it dies) for 200 mana

Dagon = Gives user an ability to cast an Energy Burst spell that does 400/800 damages for 245/325 mana (Upgradeable)
Necronomicon = Gives user an ability to summon 1 Necronomicon Archer and a Necronomicon Warrior for 35 seconds, these necro-units have various spells and abilities which are more powerfull with each upgrade (Upgradeable)

2) Will using a lesser clarity potion when you're windwalking cancel the windwalk?

Yes, Wind Walk will be cancelled while using any active item ability.

3) What if you use the potion before windwalking?

Both the potion and the Wind Walk will work.

4) If you have 2 eul's sceptres with charges, can you drop one, cyclone an enemy, then pick the other up and cyclone another enemy?
No, because if you drop one eul and cast a tornado on one unit and the pick up the second eul he will be set to the same cooldown as the first eul

5) What items can cancel channeling spells?

Cranium Basher, Monkey King Bar, also Eul's Scepter of Divinity and Guinsoo's Scythe of Vyse

6) Which items overwrite some characters abilities?

Orb effect items can overwrite hero orb effects abilities, frenzy can overwrite other frenzys for heroes with that ability, also clinkz strafe spell and troll warlord's rampage, and some other abilities. Lothar's edge overwrites other wind walk spells from heroes with those abilites.

7) Which items can you use to instantly kill or dominate creeps?

Hand of Midas is used to kill any creep lower than level 6 that is not a summoned, ancient or dominated creep. Helm of the Dominator can dominate any creep lower than level 6.

8) If you're stunned, will activating the Black King Bar cancel any stuns?

Being stunned prevents you from casting any spells or activating any items. Clicking BKB while you're stunned will let you activate it after the stun has dissapeared. For the full duration of the item, no hero can cast any stun spell on you for the duration of BKB.

9) Can you use manta style's illusion to cancel any stuns?

Being stunned prevents you from casting any spells or activating any items. It cannot dispell any stun buffs.

10) Can Aghanim's Scepter, Dagon, or Necronomicon be upgraded?

Dagon can be upgraded to level 5 by buying the recipe again (to a maximum of 4 times) when you've finished your first Dagon. Necronomicon can be upgraded to level 3 (in the same way you can upgrade Dagon). Aghanim's Scepter cannot be upgraded.

11) What's the difference between sentry and observer wards?

Sentry wards lasts 360 seconds, while observer wards last 480 seconds. Sentry wards cost 375 gold, while observer wards cost 215 gold. Sentry wards have truesight (they will reveal nearby enemy units), while observer wards do not have this ability.

12) Do agility items also add additional damage to agility heroes?

Yes, they will. A blade of alacrity will increase their damage by 10 (apart from the other effects agility gives them).

C ) Hero Knowledge:
1) Which abilities can be upgraded via Aghanim's sceptre?
Aghanim improves the ultimates for Lina, Zeus, Furion, Pugna, Rylai, Rhasta, Queen of Pain, Venomancer, Lich, Leshrac, Lion, Necrolyte, Keeper of the Light, Luna, Ogre Magi and Witch Doctor. The rest of the heroes can make Aghanim but it will not make their ultimates more powerfull.

2) Does battle fury's splash stack with magnataur's splash damage?

Yes, it stacks directly. Having his skill leveled up to 4 and having a Battlefury in his inventory will give him a total of 50% + 35% = 85% splash damage.

3) Which abilities take a while to cast and how long do they take?

Assassinate takes about 3 seconds to cast.
Epicenter takes exactly 2 seconds to cast.
Primal Split takes about 1 second to cast.
Nevermore's Requiem of Souls takes exactly 1 second to cast.
War Stomp, Slithereen Crush and Light Strike Array all take 0.5 seconds to cast.

4) Which abilities can be canceled by an enemy when you're casting?

Only channeling skills can be cancelled while casting it. Lifedrain and Freezing Field are examples of channeling skills.

5) Which abilities will hit a unit if he goes invisible after targeted but before the ability executes?
If you cast it at a right time a storm bolt or a magic missile can hit you (you have something like a 1/2 window opening to do this) but it can only hit you JUST before you disappear, not while you are invisible. So the answer is NO, you can't be hit by a single target spell while invisible (even if the missile is on the way) if there is no true sight skills, wards, or gems.

6) What range do you have to be within a creep to get experience?
You'll have to be within 1000 range to gain experience from killed enemy creeps.

7) How much money does killing a tower give you?

Killing the first tower will give you a random amount from 351 to 549 gold. Killing all other towers will give you a random amount from 377 to 674 gold.

8) What ways can you kill a creep to give you the most money?

Killing a creep with Hand of Midas will give you about triple its amount in gold. Devouring it with Lucifer's skill will give you 40 gold (at level 4) on top of the creeps normal gold award.

9) How much money does killing syllabear's bear give you?

It will give you precisely 100 gold.

10) At what range can towers hit you?

Towers have 700 range, but the projectile can follow you until it hits you.

11) Can any hero hit a tower without being targeted?

Sniper's skill allows him to shoot at towers with a maximum of 770 range.

12) Can any AOE abilities / ultimates be activated and stay in effect after blinking or when cycloned?

Epicentre, Eclipse and Diabolic Edict are spells that will continue to work even after you blinked or were being cycloned, also faceless void's Chronosphere, and Enigma's midnight pulse, -20% slow effect from pudges roth still works if: pudge has turn on roth then someone used eul's on him, if some enemy hero is near the tornadoed pudge he will have reduced speed but not loose health from roth.

13) At what levels can you upgrade your ultimates?

At level 6, 11 and 16 you can level your ultimates to respectively 1, 2 and 3. Aghanim's Scepter will increase each of the 3 levels, but will actually not give it a fourth level.

14) At what levels can you upgrade your normal abilities?

At levels 1, 3, 5 and 7 you can level your abilities to respectively 1, 2, 3 and 4.

15) Do you know how to let other heros buy with your character?

You can share all of your units with another player through the 'Allies' menu. This way, other players can buy items on a shared hero.

D ) Other Knowledge:

1) What are 3 ways to signal on the minimap?

You can click the 'ping' button next to the minimap and click it anywhere to ping the map. You can hold ALT and click the map to ping. Lastly, you can hit ALT + G and then click the location to ping.

2) How long does it take to re-spawn at level 1, 3, 5, 10, etc.?

It will take you about 3 seconds per level your hero is to respawn back at the fountain after dying.

3) How much money do you lose if you die at level 1, 3, 5, 10, etc.?

You lose 30* level - 50. So exp. at level 5 you lose : 30*5-50 = 100 gold

4) How do you use control groups?

First of all you select with your mouse a unit or units. Then if you want to add another group/unit you hold shift then select the group/unit you want to add. By holding shift and clicking on a unit already inside a group you can eject him from the group. To switch from one group to another (from left to right) you select the groups and you press the tab button. To assign a hotkey (number) to a group you selected, just select a group and hold CTRL and press a number you want to assign a group to. When you press that number, your group will automaticly be selected.

5) Do you know how to set waypoints?

Hold down shift and click on multiple points of the map to make the unit move to each of these points in the correct order (or do anything else you've ordered).

6) Can you set waypoints ending in an attack on an enemy or tower?

Yes, Hold down shift and click on multiple points of the map and then tell right click on the enemy hero/structure, the hero will move to each of these points in the correct order and the he end his movements with an attack

7) Do you know how to share your chicken with teammates?

Use the 'Allies' menu and then you can select the allies you want to share all your units with. (You cannot share your chicken only.)

8) What's the hotkey for the top left (top right, etc.) item slot?
Use the numpad keys (7, 8, 4, 5, 1 and 2) to hotkey your items.
